Obama recently passed H.R. 2346, a bill that provides 106 billion dollars in funding for the "war on terror".

President Obama is planning to send more than 20,000 additional troops into Afghanistan. For the first time next year, the annual cost of the occupation in Afghanistan is projected to exceed the cost of the occupation in Iraq. By the end of 2009 the number of American forces occupying Afghanistan is expected to be around 68,000, doubling the amount of the American forces that were there at the end of 2008.

The bill also includes legislation sponsored by Senators Joseph Lieberman (I-CT) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC), which provides the Secretary of Defense with the power to conceal photographic evidence of future acts of illegal torture by the military.

Yes America, this is change that we can all believe in.

Iranian Election

Quick Thoughts:

1. The election was rigged.

2. Ahmadinejad would have won anyway.

3. Ahmadinejad took about 63 percent of the vote in the 2005 runoff.

Republican Paranoia

While personal freedoms were long ago forgotten by Republicans in order to "fight the War on Terror", a Survey now shows grave concerns by Republicans about Big Brother. The Republican party only fears government malfeasance under Liberals and showed no such concern while Bush was pillaging our constitutionally protected civil liberties and labeling American citizens "Enemy Combatants". Now that their being labeled "extremists" instead of Muslims, they now voice "grave concerns about Big Brother". Whats next? Charles Krauthammer and Bill Kristol with a stirring defense of Habeaus Corpus? Don't count on it.

Why neopaleocons? Why here?

Some readers have e-mailed asking why Neopaleocons and why on Blogspot. Without getting into too much detail, our first site choice was blogsforvictory.com. Unfortunately we just couldn't hack it there.

Their slogan is "Where Defeat is not an Option" and where everything from "Hope for terrorists" to an open letter to Obama "Yes, Mr. Obama. We Are, In Fact, A Judeo-Christian Nation" appear. Anyway, after weeks of painstaking research, we couldn't find any religion called Judeo-Christianity or houses of worship representing such a religion. Also, we didn't quite view the defeat of McCain in 2008 as the death of Western Civilization. So here we are. Sad to say, but we just couldn't hack it at such an intellectually high-brow site like Blogsforvictory.
